Is Pressure a Good Thing?

Pressure: Good or bad?
So I’m curious to know what you guys think. Do you do better or worse under pressure? To be honest, I’m not really sure where I stand on this subject. In ways, the pressure of my sponsors and coaches to be ready for this show in 4 weeks has made me push myself harder than I ever would have on my own. But at the same time, any doubts or fears that they have about me being ready kinda bring me down. I feel like the pressure can really get to me sometimes and make me want to give up, but it is the same thing that is driving me to work so hard. Kind of interesting to think about and it’s just one more part of the learning process on what works best for me.
How does pressure affect you? Does it help you or does it make you less motivated? Even if it makes you uncomfortable, do you prove greater results with the presence of pressure??
I think it can be both good and bad. Like you said, it can make you work harder, but it can also push you over the edge mentally perhaps…drag you down after a while. Not sure if that’s really an answer…
I think I do better under pressure but have heard it isn’t studies say sometimes, we only think we work better under presser and we really don’t. That said, no matter the amount of lead time, I tend to always way to the final moments to finish stuff.
I think, as long as we have good checks and balance in place, pressure can be good.
I guess for me it depends on what the pressure has to do with. Pressure on leaning my body out doesn’t always work…it has a mind of its own.
I am all about pressure. It definitely makes me push harder each week so I get better results. If I didn’t have pressure I wouldn’t get anywhere 🙂 Goodluck girl!
